Video quallity is good and so in the user interface but the audio is useless regardless of connection speed and quality. Would not recommend at this time.

Works great for me considering my cameras and network are all wireless. Had a few issues caused by me and support was quick and effective. Highly recommend this app for the one time cost.
always freezing crashing lagging
This is a great app, but it has no ability to display 720p or 1080p 16:10 or 16:9 cameras in their native aspect ratio. It only supports VGA res so the sides are cut off. It’ll talk to the hi-def cameras but you won’t see the resolution or anything but 4:3 aspect ratio. I hope they add this feature. Hi-def cameras have been out for years.
In short, this is a four-out-of-five-star rated application. Out of all the ‘cam’ apps out there, this is the best. This seems to be the cleanest interface for cameras out there. It’s clear, responsive and is mostly operable without any instructions. However, the thing that stops it from getting a full five-stars is it’s missing a few ‘obvious’ features that leave you scratching your head as to why they’re not there. For instance, when viewing a camera, you can use the on-screen ‘d-pad’ arrows to pan and tilt your camera around. But why can’t you simply use the arrows on your keyboard? Why must you reach for the mouse at all? You have to take your eyes off of the camera to ‘aim’ your mouse when trying to follow something on the screen with the camera. Using the keyboard, you could keep your eye on the video and potentially not miss something happening. Plus, if this feature were added, then you could hide the ‘control area’ and utilize more of the window for the camera’s preview. This alone knocks it down from five to four stars. Also, the application doesn’t remember where the window was last or what size it is meaning every time you start it up, you have to move and re-siize it again, which is a real pain on multi-monitor systems. Again, this is something you’ve just come to expect in modern applications but it’s surprisingly missing here. Another nice-to-have for multi-monitor systems would be the ability to ‘tear off’ a camera and put it into another window. That way you can have one camera on one screen and a different one on another. This one however I concede may qualify as a ‘pro’ feature but it is something I’d be more than happy to pay for. The other two however really should have been there from the start. That said, it is still my favorite application for cam-watching and is highly recommended. Fix those things mentioned above—especially the keyboard arrows issue—and this would definitely improve its rating.
best camera app i have.but quit bugging me about rating the app.
I have a pair of Dahua IPC-HFW4300S cameras. The video playback looks great on the cameras interface at 1080p H264 30fps. When I add the camera to uNetCams, it changes the encoding to MJPEG 10fps and very low quality, super blotchy. The interesting thing is that is seems that the software supports H264 because if I change the encoding options back to the way I want on the camera, it will show up as a very high quality render in uNetCams for a couple seconds before the software goes and messes up the settings again. I looked through everything, and there are no options to fix this in the software. Ive wasted my money. dont waste yours.
I think this is the best among the choices available in terms of features, number of cams supported, and basic functionality. Unfortunately for me, it crashes after an hour of running. I have 11 cameras (a mix of foscams and hikvision), and 3 are set up for motion detection and recording. I’ve tried various settings but no help. This is on a brand new Mac Mini without much stuff installed. On my Macbook Air, it crashes any time I try to resize the screen. I never got around to leaving it running and trying to record on motion. Other than crashing, I think the app is great, but unfortunately the crashing makes it unusable.
This viewer works where others don’t for me. I am very pleased with this application.
So far this app has been working great on a 2012 Mac Mini. I have three cameras, a Vivotek and two Axis. The cameras are supported and it was very easy to set cameras up in this app. I have been using uCamPro on my iPhone 6 & 5s for a couple of years. It has been great on the iPhone, so I was hoping the Mac app would be great too and it is.
Still does not work - even after last 2 updates - same as before... Worked fine for about a week after version 2.1, then dropped my camera - can’t load list of cameras - gives network error. Uninstalled/reinstalled - problem persists...
After las update program works OK! Back to 5 stars. Just two small request, 1.- I would like to have the option to group certain cameras and to be able to “show that group”. 2.- Please change your icon! Just follow the design according to new Yosemite OSX styleguide. I really love your software!!!!
The most un-Mac application I’ve ever bought in the App Store. You can’t even resize the window and yet the developer found time to nag customers for a review. Here’s your one star now how about actually investing some time and effort to make this a decent application? Maybe make one good app instead of twenty bad variations of the same thing.
This program “does” record some video. Hard to say where it is stored, can’t find it. Video playback within the program is awful… can’t scrub can’t start in the middle. It’s unusable. You guys understand i might NEED to look at SECURITY cam video at some point, right? Apparently not. So, you tink, just export that video and you are good…. HA. It will export a file THAT CANNOT BE PLAYED. This program would be awful if it were free. Since I paid for it, I’m insulted. Avoid this crap-ware.
While not perfect I really love this app. Im using it with a Foscam FI8910W camera, one Trendnet TV-IP422W camera, and 1 Foscam FI9826P camera. The pan and tilt works great. You can listen to the audio on both the Foscam and Trendnet brands of cameras and use the microphone on your computer to talk through the cameras speakers. I have contacted their technical support about some issues and did receive the appropriate help so that is another plus that they listen and respond to customers. I recommend checking out their website and especially their supported camara list. There is a link to that on their support page dont go by just the summary on the main support page. Ive been using this app for over a year now and they keep improving it with updates. Its nice to know they are still actively updating and improving the product. Is this polished great looking and great working software? No, it is not but it does provide a convient way to look at my cameras, supports a wide range of cameras, and is the best software I’ve found for OS X so far. Would I buy it again? Yes.
The program works but crashes every few hours. Sent developer a crash report and never heard back. So I give it a 1 for poor support. Fix the crashes and reply to your customers and I would re evaluate.
Have discovered that this app cannot be deleted. It skips frames in normal use, and in trying to fix that it was necessary to delete the app and reload camera specifics. But I cannot delete the specifics. Nor can I delete individual camera profiles. I don’t want to get ahead of things, but security camera violations have occurred on a massive scale in some instances and this may be another instance. I will be in touch with Apple and the Vendor to get to the bottom of this. On the whole, this app has worked better than apps from Trendnet (the camera brand I use), but it is totally unacceptable to load apps that cannot be deleted and which are not secure. UPDATE: Have now gone the full spectrum on this App. Began with 5 stars, then down to 1 star when I discovered it cannot be deleted from Mac, now 3 stars. First, cannot emphasize too much that if you delete apps from Mac, you need to follow with a utility that deletes hidden files left behind. Some apps delete cleanly, but many do not. This app doesn’t appear to delete anything when you remove it from the App file. Means that if someone accessed your computer, they could connect to your cams, or worse. And if you use security cams in parts of your house you want forever private, this may not be very secure. Hard to know because the vendor is not explicit about security. I am using the App again, but it does not interface correctly with the Trendnet cameras I use around the outside of my home. Believe it only displays one of every three frames the cams capture, so it looks like a Keystone Cops segment. But as annoying as that is, it is still better than the software Trendnet offers.
Have been purchasing different brand IP cameras and thought I was going to have to either run each of the proprietary suites simutaneously or some other craziness. Just happen to come across this app and I couldn’t beleave it. This application will allow you to setup a bunch of different IP cameras by different makers tweak the settings for them and setup a schedule to record. THANK YOU DEVELOPER, thank you
At first I was quite pleased playing and testing this out. I enteed several cameras and was playing with the setup. But then I needed to set up recording and that is when things went downhill. 1) recording does NOT work. manual, or otherwise 2) audio and mtion detection does NOT work 3) there is no documentation about where recording would go (if it actually worked) and there is no choice for the user to choose where recordoings go After upgrading to the latest patch 10.5.5 ALL my settings dissappeared. ALL the work I did the night before entering 12 cmaeras was gone. When I went to enter them again the “add camera” window was all MESSED up. You coudl not pick a camera brand, and models were limited to three choices that made no sense. The captions for the rest of the input boxes were so messed up as to be unreadable. REALLY? From one little patch update??? They need a major overhaul for this to be a viable. And I am surprised Apple even lets this trash on their store. I want a refund. DON’T BUY!!!!
Yesterday it ran fine, then about 4 hours later all my cameras were gone, I tried to reload them from the backup and the whole screen changed. I contactd the company and was told it was my network. My network is fine. I even uninstalled the program, rebooted. I went as far as rebooting my modem by unplugging it and waiting 10 minutes. Re installed the program and yet, it doesn’t work. I can’t get the vendors option to work. I took a screen shot and sent it to them. Got the same snarky answer that it wasn’t their fault it was my network. I asked if the recent update to the OSX or the OS is El Capitan but have not received any work. I need something that works. My iMac is new, barely 2 weeks old. It is unfortunate for me that there are so few programs that are out there for Foscam for the Mac. So I give them 2 stars at this time and probably will drop down to no stars soon if I can’t get some resolution on this.
